SERVING THE COMMUNITY IN TIMES OF NEED

C-STEM Coding and Robotics Camp 2024 City of Montebello

C-STEM CODING AND ROBOTICS SUMMER CAMP

SPECIAL THANKS TO MARATHON, YMCA AND THE PARENT ENGAGEMENT INSTITUTE FOR BRINGING C-STEM TO WILMINGTON

2023 C-STEM Coding and Robotics Summer Camp

Building Partnerships for Student Success in Schools

The 2023 Summer Camp C-STEM Coding and Robotics was a huge success, and we couldn't have done it without the generous support of Marathon and the YMCA.

The camp took place at the YMCA in Wilmington from July 17-28, and it was designed for 8th graders. During 10 days, students and parents learned about coding and robotics.  We were so impressed with the enthusiasm and participation of everyone involved.  It was wonderful to see so many parents engaged and working side by side with their students.

The curriculum for the camp is aligned with the Common Core and NEXT academic standards. Students learned how to code and build robots, and they demonstrated a great deal of interest.  Parents were very supportive of the camp, and they gave us positive feedback about the experience.

We are so grateful to Marathon for providing a grant that made the camp possible. Thanks to their support, we were able to offer the camp at no cost to participants.  We also appreciate the YMCA for providing lunch each day and for allowing our organization to use the wonderful facility at the YMCA Wilmington.

We couldn't have asked for better partners for this camp.   Marathon, the YMCA are truly committed to providing high-quality educational opportunities for the youth and their families.  We are so grateful for their support, and we look forward to continue working with them again in the future.

Here are some of the highlights of the camp:

        • The camp was attended by 8th graders, younger students, and parents.
        • The curriculum was designed to be engaging and challenging, and students learned a lot about coding and robotics.
        • Parents were very involved in the camp, and they appreciated the opportunity to learn alongside their children.
        • The camp was offered at no cost to participants, thanks to the generous support of Marathon.

We are so proud of the work that our students and parents did at the camp. They learned about coding and robotics, and they had a lot of fun doing it.  We are confident that they will use the skills they learned at the camp to pursue their interests in STEM during high school and future careers.

We would like to thank Marathon and the YMCA for their generous support of our 2023 Summer Camp C-STEM Coding and Robotics.  We are so grateful for their investment in the future of  youth in Wilmington.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our team of instructors and support staff for their commitment and dedication to creating and delivering a wonderful curriculum for the youth of Wilmington.
